METERPODU Shocked by autoricksaws fare in cities chennai, bengaluru, hyderabad, coimbatore and mysore why not ,when we think of goingout fares of autorickshaws is the factor which will be worrying for most of us . The distance is not too far, but autorickshaws fare for that distance is far beyond the money in our purse .we cannot bargain to rude autodrivers when we do know the correct amount to be paid for those autodrivers for certain distances and we can only shut our mouth pay the amount cursing him inside.Two techies from U.S. Anantha Subramanian and Mayur Narasimhan who returned to their hometown by 2010 was worried by seeing merciless treatment of autorickshaw's drivers .They thought about solving the problem and found the root cause of promblem, why high fares it is because we are not familiar with autorickshaw's fares .This lead them to comeup with a start up of www.meterpodu.in launched on 2012 february 11, where the people who are familiar with autorickshaw's fare for particular distance can enter the average fare amount by login in facebook or twitter its procedure is simple that everyone can understand.




To help people who want to know the average amount or autorickshaw fare for a distance can open the site choose region,source ,destination and select getfares , route will be plotted and will recive answers. This start up soon recieved 1500 hits within two days of the day when it was started with request of people the extension of the service to coimbatore and mysore was done. What would we do if we could not get a ticket on the bus to go home for Diwali? Keep cribbing about if for every other Diwali to come? But when faced with the above situation Mr.Phanindra Sama did not do just that, he dwelt on the current situation and when he discovered that the travel agents don’t have all the information regarding all the possible bus operators  leading to a information gap, he decided to fix it.
He got together along with two of his classmates from BITS Pilani, Sudhakar Pasupunuri and Charan Padmaraju and created a organized bus ticketing service provider.
This company which was started in 2006 had a turnover of Rs. 50 lakhs in the first year and multiplied to 5 crores the following year. They crossed the magic figure of 100 crores in the 2011 and have set a target for about 300 crores this year. They currently have 500 people employed.They have about 700 bus operators with 10,000 buses listed, works in 15 states and sells around 8,000 tickets every day.

Prabhat Gupta, another IITian is a core development member. This online platform being launched in 2011,has gained revenue of Rs 1.2 crore in just 7 months. They started out their business in Noida with a business motive that links customers to travel agents who offer best deals.
                             These deals are  value added as they are customized to specific needs of the traveller.Each request from the customer is sent to at least three travel agents with operations in the customer's destination area.The services are free to the travellers who get the best deals from multiple agents. They have the tie ups with 150 travel agents in India, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Egypt.
